Mediation – Services

In each family law case, the Court requires parties to attend mediation. Mediation is a semi-formal process that includes you, your attorney, a certified mediator, and the opposing party along with the opposing party’s attorney. The parties can sit in the same room or be separated. The mediation process allows the parties to negotiate each of their terms or conditions prior to involving the Court’s intervention. Each of the counties has a mediation department or you can have a private mediator at your request. In general, mediation is a confidential, non-adversarial approach to conflict resolution, empowering parties to formulate, resolve and problem-solve to agree to the best outcome.

Divorce mediation is an opportunity for you and your spouse to mutually create and agree to your divorce terms. The Johnston Law Firm, P.A. can represent in your mediation and help you negotiate the terms of your divorce or paternity action.
